Course 1 - ASSE 6005 Medical Gas Specialist Credential (32-Hour Course)
This course provides general knowledge of medical gas and vacuum systems for the purpose of providing continuing education. This credential meets the needs of individuals with an interest in medical gas and vacuum systems and equipment. Length: 3-day Cost: $775.00. Students must pass a written exam with a minimum score of 70.
Course 2 - ASSE 6010 Medical Gas Installers Credential (32-Hour Course)
This course provides the technical knowledge required for the installation of medical
gas and vacuum distribution systems. Regulations now state that medical gas
Installers must have a minimum of 32 hours of training, including oral, written and
practical instruction. Medical gas “brazers” must now also be qualified as
“Installers.” This thirty-two hour block of instruction immerses the student into all
facets of NFPA99 medical gas and vacuum systems standard. Candidates must have a minimum of (4) years of documented practical experience in the installation of piping systems. Length: 4-day Cost: $875.00 Students must pass a written exam with a minimum score of 70 and
successfully braze a horizontal & vertical coupon.
Course 3 - ASSE 6020 Medical Gas Inspectors Credential (24-Hour Course)
The ASSE series 6020 Medical Gas Inspector credential is ideal for construction
managers, hospital engineers, project managers, designers and project estimators.
This twenty-four hour block of instruction immerses the student into all facets of
NFPA99 medical gas and vacuum systems standard. The graduate will have an
excellent command of all applicable requirements of this standard. Length: 3-day
Cost: $775.00 Students must pass a written exam with a minimum score of 70.
Course 4 - ASSE 6040 Medical Gas Hospital Maintenance Personnel (32-Hour Course)
This course is for individuals who maintain/repair medical gas and vacuum sources
and systems in health care facilities within the scope of NFPA 99 Standard for Health
Care Facilities. There are many requirements placed on the manufacturers of medical
gas equipment, but once placed in service, it becomes the hospital’s responsibility to
test and document the performance of these vital support systems, and, if necessary,
facilitate or perform repairs. Candidates shall be employed or contracted by a health care facility, and shall have one (1) year minimum experience in the maintenance of the medical gas systems. Length: 4-day Cost: $ 875.00 Students must pass a
written exam with a minimum score of 70.
